Enrich Your Story with the Hero’s Journey & Other Templates
In many cases, a story is only as good as the sum of its parts. One of the best ways to organize these parts into a cohesive narrative is by utilizing a writing template. Templates are used by many successful and awarded authors, and are a good way for your writing to stand out.
One of the most well-known and widely-used templates in fiction is the Hero’s Journey. Originally devised by mythologist, Joseph Campbell, his unique story-structure, the monomyth, has been updated over the years to focus on mediums other than mythology including film, television, and novels.
In this original Writing Lodge course, our instructors will guide authors through the monomyth and help them apply the technique to their own writing. Having this knowledge will help you develop strong, in-depth plots that are both practical and fulfilling for readers.
